Allie Skjonsberg is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Dakota. After completing her bachelor degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, majoring in social work and minoring in psychology, Allie continued her education at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she received her Masters degree in social work.
Allie is an approved supervisor for clinical social workers in Minnesota.
Therapeutic Approach and Clinical Focus:
After completing her Master’s degree, Allie worked in a few different settings including: nursing home social worker, social worker/case manager for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, special education social worker for a school district and psychotherapist. Allie will work with anyone above the age of 5 and some of her specialty areas include but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, ODD, PTSD, abuse, trauma, personality disorders, and grief.
Allie has received additional training in DBT, EMDR, crisis intervention, and trauma focused techniques. Her theoretical approach is based primarily on person centered therapy, CBT, EMDR and DBT. However, she will use different techniques and theories depending on where the client is at and what the needs and desires are of the individual client.
