Bridget Forst is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Dakota. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Social Work and minor in Corrections from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Bridget continued her education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where she completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health & Substance Misuse. Bridget is also a board-approved supervisor with the Minnesota Board of Social Work.
In her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her pets, reading, exercising, listening to podcasts, learning new recipes, and taking walks with her dog.
Biography
Counseling Approach and Clinical Focus:
While completing her Bachelor’s degree, Bridget worked and worked in several different settings including: Adult Foster Care for individuals with mental illness, ARMHS (adult rehabilitative mental health services), and probation. Bridget has over six years of experience working as a county mental health case manager. In addition to her role at Birchwood Therapeutic Services, Bridget works as the Behavioral Health & Adult Protection Lead at Wilkin County Health & Human Services.
Bridget supports those 12+ and provides services to individuals and couples. Bridget has particular interest in working with serious and persistent mental illness and older adolescents. Areas of specialty include treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder, and psychosis. Bridget offers a strengths-based approach that incorporates a combination of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused techniques to increase distress tolerance and emotional awareness.
