Jazmin Reckmo, LPC
Jazmin earned a B.S. degree from North Dakota State University in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis on Child and Adolescent Development in 2018. She also received a minor in Psychology. Jazmin attained her Master’s degree from the Minnesota State University Moorhead Counselor Education program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Jazmin had several years of experience working with youth at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch who struggled with mental health concerns. There she was able to conduct group and individual counseling. She also spent the beginning of 2023 at Prairie St Johns conducting groups and doing individual safety planning. She believes this well-rounded experience will help her at Birchwood and is excited to be a part of the team!
Biography
Counseling Approach and Clinical Focus:
The theoretical approach Jazmin uses is Person Centered. She also likes to include interventions from Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. Jazmin strives to use a more integrated theoretical approach to best serve and meet the needs of her clients. Jazmin is also interested in learning more about different types of trauma therapy.
A message from Jazmin:
Life can be like drinking water out of a fire hydrant at times and we all face obstacles and emotions that can be challenging. It can be overwhelming to face life’s challenges alone. My passion is meeting people where they are at and walking beside them on their healing journey.
