Kristen Dodds, BFA MA

Kristen Dodds.jpg

I am currently enrolled at Minnesota State University Moorhead, pursuing my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. I’m an artist, advocate, and ally with a heart for creativity, connection, and healing. With a background in therapeutic art, positive parenting support, and trauma-informed care, I bring warmth, humor, and a holistic perspective to my work. Through conversation and creative approaches, I believe in making therapy a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered for self-directed change.

Biography

Counseling Approach and Clinical Focus:

I take a person-centered, trauma-informed, and solution-focused approach, weaving in expressive arts, mindfulness, and somatic healing. My work is grounded in feminist theory and human rights advocacy. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, neurodivergence, life transitions, and more, always honoring the mind-body connection. With a background as a birth doula and positive parenting educator, I’m especially passionate about uplifting mothers, children, and families, knowing that strong relationships create stronger communities. I believe in the power of connection, positive habits, and a holistic approach to foster healing and growth.
