Reid Segal,
M.S., LPC, NCC
Reid decided she wanted to be a counselor at 12 years old when she met with her own counselor for the first time. She has seen the benefits of therapy from both sides of the couch and is passionate about offering a welcoming and unintimidating therapy environment where she collaborates with her clients as an equal. Reid is LGBTQIA+ affirming, inclusive, and offers a safe space for all. She believes therapy is a sacred space that can ground you back to your most genuine self and reintroduce you to what you value most.
Reid earned her B.A. degree from North Dakota State University in 2019 and her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University- Moorhead in 2022. She has experience working in crisis care and higher education settings. She is currently a Licensed Professional Associate Counselor in North Dakota and is pursuing her Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor license.
Biography
Counseling Approach and Clinical Focus:
Reid uses a holistic approach to help her clients understand how the environment around them, their body, mind, and past all contribute to their current state. Reid draws from many theoretical influences to guide her counseling, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, self-compassion practices, Feminist Multicultural Therapy, solution-focused interventions, Polyvagal theory, and psychodynamic principles. More importantly than any counseling theory, Reid strives to build a safe and caring relationship with all of her clients to foster positive outcomes from therapy.
