Kallie is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of North Dakota and Minnesota. She has been a practicing counselor since 2012. After completing her Bachelor of Science from North Dakota State University, double majoring in Psychology and Human Development and Family Science, Kallie continued her education at North Dakota State University where she received her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Counseling Approach and Clinical Focus:
After completing her Master’s degree, Kallie worked as an Intensive In-Home Therapist at the Village Family Service Center in Fargo, ND. Kallie was trained in different therapies to help families support their children, teach parents how to parent more effectively, work diligently to help families be successful, and help parents be more aware and understand their children’s needs. She focused on helping to prevent children being placed outside of the home, and for reunifying children back into their homes or the community. Kallie specializes in working with children and adolescents with ADHD, depression, anxiety, ODD, reactive attachment disorder, PTSD, and abuse. Kallie specializes in working with young children, adolescents, and teens, ages 2-18.
Kallie has received additional training in Play Therapy techniques, TF-CBT, DC:0-5, CPT and Nurtured Heart. Her theoretical approach is based primarily on person centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). However, she uses different counseling techniques and theories in order to have the most effective outcome possible for each individual client. Many of these techniques utilize creativity such as art, sand tray, and play. Art and hands-on activities encourages people to express and understand their emotions and experiences differently. Kallie believes in using an empathetic and holistic approach that empowers individuals and families to find solutions to their problems and reach their self-determined goals.
